A reminder that this week, June 8-14, there is no fasting, even on Wednesday and Friday.
On Monday, June 15, the Apostles' Fast will begin. This fast honors the Holy Apostles of the Orthodox Christian Church, Saints Peter and Paul, who labored to bring both Jew and Gentile into the Body of Christ in the early days of the Church. The feast of Saints Peter and Paul falls on June 29 (Church Calendar)/July 12 (Civil Calendar). This fast is especially difficult for many as it falls in the summer, but it is an important chance for us to improve our spiritual lives.
Through the intercessions of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul may the Orthodox Church in Greenville, NC continue to grow and prosper!
