Greetings in the Lord! I'm Fr Anastasios Hudson, the priest serving at Nativity of the Holy Theotokos Orthodox Church here in Greenville. I'm glad that you've found our site, and hope you'll find it spiritually profitable.

A little about myself; I was born in Findlay, Ohio, and also lived in Virginia before coming to North Carolina in 1995. Discovering the Orthodox Church, I had a strong desire to learn all that I could about it and experience it firsthand; thus in 2002, my wife Michaela and I relocated to New York so that I could attend St. Vladimir's Seminary, where I graduated with a Master of Divinity degree in 2005. Upon graduation, we returned to North Carolina.

It has been my dream for some time to share Orthodox Christianity with Americans in the South. Orthodoxy, which is the original Church founded by Jesus Christ, is not well known here due to the complications of history. But slowly this is beginning to change, and we have started to find people in the community looking for a more traditional form of Christianity which is at the same time not stagnant but spiritually powerful. I also hope that those who were raised Orthodox but currently do not attend liturgy due to distance or past experiences with the Church will be inspired to visit and get to know us. In order to accomplish these goals, our bishop, Metropolitan Pavlos, ordained me a priest on June 22, 2008, and we celebrated our first liturgy in Greenville on September 21.
